Whats missing?

Hi folks,

Im trying to resolve an issue ive had with my 9 since i bought it. as you will see from the pics its a facelift with the double din dash. it came with a single din unit and a din trey just slotted into the gap with no cage or anything.



As you can see behind the head unit and trey there is literally nothing there. Could anyone tell me exactly what is missing that would allow me to fit a single din and a trey securely?

Pretty certain there is nothing missing as the head unit is bolted to the existing frame and the tray is also secured with 2 screws.

No mate havnt sorted it, im sure there's got to be some sort of a cage in there.

A single din in its own cage just slides about, as does the tray, no bolt holes or anything that i can see.

I am pretty sure you are not missing anything. Have a look at my pics. Its the brackets which hold the dvd player. but your player should have come with a cage which helps the player to slide in and you can bolt the sides onto the bracket.

Ah right i see, i just cant figure out how I'm going to secure the stereo cage to those brackets without stopping the stereo form sliding in...

Ps your red dash looks wild

Remove the cage from the stereo. It's not needed and usually covers the bolt holes for the stereo.

The stereo bolts to the two metal brackets circled above. So you have to remove the whole console to fit it.

As robbied said above, the pics where I circled holds the stereo.

Cheers mate that's in my ferio Vi-RS . Got that done in Japan when I imported it.

Right finally got this sorted. Was like you guys said, the stereo bolts directly to the console cage. Never seen that before always seen single dins mounted with ther own cage.

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated. Now just to find a better din tray.
