(sorry what gear oil To use)this is probably posted about a million tmes but just need a quick answer whats the proper gear oil to use on a standard ek9 box?? is it 75w90??? Thanks :D

Honda mtf,, get it from honda, take in a container and they will fill it up for you .

Honda mtf for me too. As above, take a clean container with you and your local Honda folks should fill it up no bother.

Is that how you get hold of it? Can you not buy some from there parts counter?
Do they charge for the top up or do you just pay one of the mechanics to do you a favour?

I use landrover MTF exactly same stuffas honda but cheaper & at landrover they sell it to you in proper 1litre bottles or 5litres from there parts department

Thats excellent info there mate, Cheers!! How do you know its the same stuff? Is it?

Both the Honda & land rover gear oil is Texaco MTF94
Texaco made the oils for Rover/Honda uk. A deal I think that started in the 80s

So you can use
landrover MTF94
honda MTF
Texaco MTF94

I use Landrover MTF94. I'm pretty sure Honda MTF3 is newer though.

I got my gearbox oil today from....Rover :D

I phoned the Honda dealership and they said that they got there oil from a Rover parts place as its the exact same. So i phoned Machargs who are a Rover parts dealer and asked for MTF 94 and he said "Is it for a Honda?" lol

They only sell them in 2.5 litre bottles - Got 2 bottles through my work for £33 :D

I'll put a picture up later on
