vtec doesn't engage on 1st gear

hi everyone
I want to know if you know what is the problem about my engine
the vtec doesn't engage as usual on first gear I did some try out on my car since I smell oil in my car when it stop to see if it's work
and at that moment I realised that on first gear the vtec doesn't engage but in 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th it worked without a problem
do you know what's the problem or somebody had that same problem?

btw the engine is a b18c spec r

Yes the pressure is ok
and I don't missing oil too I just wonder what's wrong with the engine
it will be a dumb question but is it another way to check the oil pressure?
I mean you can see if you have oil with the dipstick wich I presume it's not enough to get info about the oil pressure
 
Ideally you need an accurate oil pressure gauge and go from there, better to check basic's first
 
I just talk to the guy who did the swap he told me that the problem wasn't a problem at all the vtec works on a specific condition
so the throttle wasn't open enough to make it work
I did a test right after he told me this and guess what it work!
I just panic for nothing!
I do care about that little piece of joyride!
