Been on here for a while so i think i should finally start a build up for my new project. I bought a VSM Facelift ej9 in october and trying to get it to a half decent level so i can take it to the ring with my mates in august.

Car came standard except with Ek9 shocks + tanabe springs and pre facelift rear lights ( not sure why :( has no crash damage though)

Fitted front jap plate ( rear recess needs color coding before fitting)

De wipered rear

DC2 cupholders and Skunk 2 gear knob + gaitor

Then i purchased a ek9 front lip in VSM ( no gd pics currently) and started to focus and buy the good stuff.

EK4 arb + new drop links, d bushings etc + oem fixings.

Then my brother gave me this for my birthday, mounted on a bride super low ek9 seat rail. Sits mega low :)

As you can see i stripped the rear and rust proofed inside the rear arches and removed alot of sound proofing.

I then picked up these, need new tyres. Im going to order AD08s when funds allow.

Next up will be finish cleaning block and gear box. Fix 2 plugs on the wiring loom, fit new timing belt and tensioner. Also need to order a new release bearing and a couple of engine mounts.

Im planning on running a 98 spec dc2 mani, cat, ek9 b pipe and my spoon n1 for now. Should be getting a dc2 intake from a mate.

Nice one bud, car looks clean. Nice parts you got for it aswell. You keeping the rear interior out?

lookin forward to updates man! rotas will look the part! i'm missing them already haha!

Thanks. Ill keep it updated. Not sure about the rear yet. Its nice being able to give more than 1 person a lift. But i would like a cage eventually i think.

Well ive been busy lately but i grabbed a few bits from work so i can fix the broken sensors on the wiring loom (wires, cable sock etc) and i stripped the panels of so i can clean up the shell and get some underseal on while i carry on working on the engine. Suprising how clean and good condition the engine. body is for 12 years old, 124k miles.

Goner colour code the side skirts etc while its off

Still need to do inside the wheel arches and underneath, but im saving that for another day. Car is soild and i only came across some light surface rust which i sanded and treated. I have waxoyled inside the rear arches behind the rear quarter plastics.

No more updates yet. waiting on payday to get my arb mounting brackets, engine mounts, cambelt and tensioner. Im going to drop the engine and gbox in and get it wired up while i wait for the rad, ecu etc. Im not sure what manifold to run, im thinking 98 spec dc2 manifold.

Finally finished cleaning the engine

So I have some more updates, engine will be in mid may and finally get this car moving!

Service parts + cambelt and tensioner which i fitted straight away

How the engine stands currently, waiting on Power steering and alternator belts. Then i can get the gearbox and clutch back on. Rocker cover will be replaced when the engine is in so i dont damage the new one.

Fixed a broken sensor and fitted a smaller filter to bump the oil pressure a bit

P1020393.jpg

i also noticed the intake ait temp sensor was missing from the loom, so i cut the sensor of my D series loom and soldered it onto the B series loom, tape is messy. I might get some heatshrink from work and make it neat.

Need ecus?

The top two ecus are OBD2B, H tune should be swapping the immobiliser chips around so i can run the b16A2 ecu. If not i have a obd1 ecu i can get chipped.

The build looks good ! I'd use a obd1 ecu and get the car mapped as well.

Ye i am considering that. Just trying to finish my build and get the car running again.

Thank you. Once the engine is in there will be alot more happening to it, ive got a trip to the ring boiked in august so it needs to be ready

Well today i jus bought engine oil, clutch, brake and power steering fluid, coolant, spark plugs, dual core rad, silicone blue hose, water temp guage and sender setup.

Nice bulid, some very good detail..
also i think u shoud remove the A.C bracket on the block.. it will look a bit better.. keep us posted:nice:

Ye i need to take the bracket off, and i have a new engine mount for it. Been in germany visiting my girlfriend so havent had much time to do stuff. So the projects on hold for the next few weeks, got to do a clutch on a dc2, a pug 206 and brakes on a vw jetta.

Still waiting on my dual core rad and hoses, but a little update for you guys. I know every one loves pictures!

Popped into halfords to get some bits on my trade card.

Then i picked up A ek9 grill, needs colour coding though

Had a delay on my rad and hoses, but my my water temp guage and sensor adaptor arrived. Goner pick up a box of jubilee clips to fit all the hoses on with. Not sure where im goner mount the guage yet, i think i might use a single din triple guage holder.
