Hello,

I bought a EK9 shell/parts car a few years ago, its been sitting in my shop ever since and I plan to bring it back to life. Question is that I really have no clue what year it is. Either 97 or 98. Is it possible to tell by looking at the VIN number?

Thanks

its possible to tell whether its a facelift or prefacelift

the VIN should read EK9 100...... on a pre facelift

and 110....... on a facelift

also if it starts with 120...... its the latest of the ek9 model the EK9 Rx

Its EK9-10037**

So pre facelift, anyway to pinpoint what year? I noticed on some of the wiring there are labels with 1997 on them. I just never could determine if it was a late 97 or early 98.

Is there some type of CTR registry? I'd love to find a vin close to mine to get an idea.

Thanks

it's 96-97 on paper work should say year of the car.

Don't have any paperwork on this one. Car was shipped over years ago.

Did they really sell a CTR as a 1996, I always thought 97 was the first real year.

Thanks for the help.

the CTR started in 97

why exactly do you need to know?

No real reason, more curious than anything. Just felt a little empty having a real JDM car and not knowing the history on it.

If you give me the Vin I can find out as I work for Honda

pm sent.

Watch it come back, stolen, smuggled into states :p:nerv:

EDIT, with Boyle's help it turns out the car is a 1998.

Thanks
