VERY Hard to get into gears whilst driving-what problem am i having?

...so any luck yet?

No unfortunately-i refered to this, and it indicates that my Pilot bearing and release bearing may be going/gone.

I've ordered a new Exedy Clutch Kit and that should arrive wed/thurs.

Will have the clutch fitted thereafter-only then can i see whether it is as the website indicated symptons.

I decided to replace the MTF first, failing which then the clutch, failing which then replacing the gearbox to an EK9 LSD.

Will keep this post updated as soon as the clutch is replaced.

Clutch was due to reach me on Wednesday 8/12 and it's Friday now by ParcelForce 24 express.

Seems like the snow up north caused problems with last week's parcels, so all parcels that we collected this week-would NOT be delivered to receivers until next week-my clutch can only be changed when it arrives.

Right now, i believe the release bearing has gone completely, cos i cant get into ANY gears whilst on the move (unless i turn off engine) At same time, when i drive, stepping on the clutch almost feels like NOT stepping on the clutch at all.

Guess i can only wait....

Hi all,

Finally my clutch arrived yesterday (took a week using parcelforce 24 express service-due to snow earlier last week delaying ealier packages)

Anyhow, but this time, i couldn't put into gears whilst the car was running. I could just about start the car up by putting into gear first, starting car (felt like starting car in gear WITHOUT stepping on clutch) and driving and managing to put into gears thereafter by careful throttle and rpm timing.

Anyhow, when approaching traffic lights was a misery. Either timing was perfect, or when i had to come to a full stop, the car stalls (even when placing foot down on clutch). Switch off engine, put into gear, and start up again-painful process and heavy on the starter motor, leads, plugs etc.

Ok, that was the ordeal. when the clutch was changed, this was found to be the cause of the problem:

One of the casing that held one of the springs had come apart, casing the spring to get jammed and grinded against the clutch, the clutch itself was caused to grind, and the release bearing was somehow jammed with all the metal bits flying around-caused rest of clutch to be constantly rubbed down to almost nothing.

Anyhow, issue is now resolved, with new MTF in transmission, new clutch-shifting is absolutely slick, smooth and silky. I hope this will help others for future reference if they have these symptoms with their clutch/transmission/gearbox problems.

Thank you all for all the sound advice and guidance along the way.

at least its sorted now, keep ontop of your gearbox oil changes

Yes i'm glad. Thanks for the advice-will definately keep ontop of the gearbox oil changes now that i realise it's importance.
