Guys, I've been wondering for quite some time now. So i guess, it's better if i spit it out here to get more ideas and advice.

I'm planning to get a 16" wheels for my K-Series Civic EK soon together with the tyres. I know, the recommended size/profile for the 16" on EK was 205/45/16. But, I am planning to get a 205/50/16 because there's potholes on most of the roads in my country. 45 was a bit too thin for me here.

Do u think with a 16", 205/50/16 will make the tyre rubs the fender? Do u think i need to roll the fender? Any advice/idea guys?

Thanks and Happy new year. :)

depends on the tyre brand, as some are actually wider/taller than others! Ive had 205/50/16 on the front and they rubbed on full lock and have also run 215/45/16 without any issues!?! I think you'd be fine with the 205/50/16 unless you car is massively low and running mad offset alloys.

i am running 215/50/16 on my ek9, there rears did rub a bit untill i had the arches rolled, but the fronts was fine, what year is your ek as the rear arches changed on the 99-00 model and gave you alot more room

you sure? I have yet to see any difference between 96 and 99 rear arches???

Mine was 96. My car was not really that low. I actually don't mind rolling the fender as long as it solve the rubbing issue. I've asked this one bodywork shop and they said i need to pull the fender out by few mm. That's what i don't wanna do. I've never get my fender roll before..and i really think, rolling the inner side fender will solve the rubbing issue. In a dilemma coz i might stay with 15" if rolling the fender won't settle it. There must be someone here running 205/50/16.

Yupp..definitely. Now, i'm running a Toyo R888, 195/55/15..and it rubs the inner side of the fender. Maybe, it's because of the sidewall which slightly thicker or round shape compared to my previous Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 with the same size, profile, width and it didn't rub at all. Looking forward to get a set of Advan Neova AD08 or Potenza RE-11.

my bad i was thinking about my 97 coupe and my friends 00 1.4, the rear arches are different on them to the ones on my 9
