Got one off a vti at a junk lot today, while getting some parts that someone requested in the US for thier rhd civic.

I cut the blue/black and white/red under the right speaker, does anyone know which wires i can splice into under there? I don't have a test and am having surgery tomorrow so i figured it would give me something to do while i am stuck at home. Thanks

I would think you just would find a live to splice in to then earth the other.

Like i said, i don't have a test light or multimeter hoping someone knows off the top of their head a color which is hot.

what if I spliced into the "boot open" light wire? Would that be enough power to light it up? I was going to goto the dome light, but then it would only work with the doors as it doesn't come with the boot open. I would rather not have to use the switch each time, but if I have to it's not a problem.

Look for the grey molex connector behind the interior panel directly under the driver rear quarter glass. There is a white w/ red stripe wire that comes into the connector from the floor harness that has no terminating pin on the rear hatch harness. That is your 12v constant. There is a blue w/ black stripe wire that comes out of the same connector on the hatch harness side, that is your switchable ground. Connect to those two wires and the courtesy light will work like stock.
