I just moved into my new house 3 weeks ago i was hearing good things about the area and i was sound asleep fri night and was woken by my car alarm at 5 am, i chased 2 idiots but they were already on the run by the time i got down the stairs, and there is only so far i will run in my boxers :mad:. Anyway this is the third time this has happened but the last two times there was no damage as they stole the keys after breaking into my house.

This is the damage they done.

why does bad things happen to good ppl ey??????

if anyone has a spare sash that they broke off and the rubber seal that runs along the top and down the side of the door can they let me know please i cant bare to look at the car like that.

gutted for you man, its a shame people see our cars as a quick way to get dishonest money! :mad:
 
sad news to hear mate :angry: least they didnt get in. you can get little wireless cameras for not alot of money on the net, i used to have one and some out now record through a wi-fi connection which is handy.. also motion sensor lights might keep the little fukkers away!
 
I should have one soon that you can have for postage pal! It'll be off an ek3 but i can't seem them being different!
 
so sorry to hear this mate, more and more these days im hearing of the same situation that you are in ek9s getting broken into :( and this is why it would be wise for people to blank there number plates on the forum to at leats try and stop stuff like this happening. hope you get it sorted mate

Not got a garage at the house you can keep the car in? Or how about a wheel clamp? Might be a shout if they keep coming back.

yea i have to look into some kind of observation technology, i am putting in a motion sensor light today, one thing i dont understand is that it was 5 am and bright out!!!

Yea all the ek hatch backs have the same part, i went to 6 scrap yards and not one to be seen

i need some sort of deterant like a clamp yea, i cant take it anymore, no garage either that would be ideal, sat i was even trying to sell the car as it was getting to me so much, but i dont wana sell it, why would you wana sell something that puts a smile on your face when you drive it.
 
Yeah man, have a look at wheel clamps then and get a security light outside the house.

Least it might put them off.

Just make sure you dont keep the key for the wheel clamp on you car keys :nice:
 
ah that is sick, yea definitely put a sensor light and and maybe a little led light on the dashboard like cliffords so it'll blink , basically try to deter them as much as possibly.

What part of Dublin this happened if you dont mind me asking or pm me.

I have 4 cars in my drive and I normally park the ek9 at the back so the cars blockin it, but 2 cars are gonna be for sale soon, am think of clearin my garage for it.

Hope you get it fixed!

Thanks guys for all the comments/suggestions and offers for spares, really nice of you all. One thing i dont understand is there were 2 cars parked behind mine so these opportunistic amateurs plan was very limited all they did was cause needless damage the little pr**ks. I might have it sorted today ill update if i do. Thanks again

They may have just been after some of the interior if it was blocked in. Or they are just really thick. My car keys stay in my bedroom whenever I'm in bed so no one can come in and grab them.

Atleast your alarm woke you up so you know that it's doing it's job. My whole family get woken up if mine gets set off.

A while ago my mates dad rangerover got stolen. The thieves broke into the house, stole the keys then drove the car through big steel electric gates to get it out. Funny thing is the fob for the gate was on the car keys.

They got it back though and the pillocks were caught.
 
There is a few things you can do.....Sure there is a topic on here!

Visual Deterants: Steering lock, Removable steering wheel (minus the steeting lock obviously :)) ), Wheel clamp, Flashing light for alarm, driveway retractable post (if you have one), BIG A$$ DOG!!!....

Hidden Security: Kill Switches, CAT 1 Alarm, BlackJax (anti-highjack requires pin code), Call Guard (Control car through mobile etc), Tracker.......

DO NOT PUT ANY STICKERS ON WINDOWS OR POST INFO OF MODELS ETC!!! "hidden" Security :nice:

Like mentioned, security light, camera set....you can go on and on! But the problem you have is they prob will come back! So upgrading something will help so the next time they are met with another hurdle! :mad:

ALSO, just be careful about keeping keys in bedroom or under pillows.....they usually have a knife and do not hesitate to use it! :wow:
 
Gutted for you mate, there are some right scumbags out there. Someone tried to steal my mates car the other night, found it about 1/2mile away as steering column let go due to them damaging it.

sorry to hear this matey, fcukin filthy scumbags, it seams in the car thieving world the ek9's/dc2's seem to be a top target and have been for the last year or so now ! :angry:
 
^^^^^well gav I think that the thieves want some vtec but dont want to pay for it tho. And the best security feature would be a camera and a wheel clamp.
