The jammer just stopped me, apparantly my exhaust is too loud lol . Got an apexi n1 which is also decatted and i only took the revs up to 3k maximum when they heard it! ( tho i did position my foot in the right place to giv it maximum rasp at those revs lol)

so after telling me they have no problem writing me a ticket to get the exhaust off the car, then telling me i dont have the correct plates, then telling me my OS front tyre has an area of about 50% under 1.6mm . . . . they let me go with no fines or anything!!

had a similar situation , 3 bald tyres , illegal reg plates (they say) , no tax or MOT and all I got was a £60 fine for the plates .
 
If polis told me my exhaust was too loud, Id tell them to bolt.

How can they judge what is too loud without something to measure volume apart from their ears? Every screw would have a different idea.

What a joke.
 
i had a funny situation when i was late for my exams and i overtook the garda( police ):angry: ...... wasent my smartest idea, i was on the side of the road for like 15min.... but he was sound enough and let me go with a warning ....

i got a prohibition for my spoon n1 2 years ago mobile vosa testing station the bastards got a 30pound fine and 28 days to remove the exhaust n retest it so a so a baffle made for it went to the station parked round the corner wraped the baffle in sound deading drove the car round in complete silence then drove bak out out came the baffle n back to full noise polution n iv never had a probelm since!
 
Illegal plates?? (so they say haha)

I thought import cars could have jdm plates while all uk cars must have uk styled ones??
 
Pretty sure they all have to be the same, import or not. Once registered here its as good as any UK car, unless your car has a plate recess that only accepts a certain size plate.
 
imports are allowed jap square plates and motorcycle fonts ,as I recently got stopped in my 106 gti which has irish fonts and the guy explained
your allowed 64mm letters on a jap car if the standard recess does not allow a uk size plate

"Size and spacing of characters: special cases
14A.—(1) This regulation applies in relation to any vehicle imported into the United Kingdom which—

(a)does not have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval; and.
(b)is so constructed that the area available for the fixing of the registration plate precludes the display on the plate of a registration mark in conformity with the requirements of regulation 14"

We can argue it for the rear as a 14" plate wont fit, but unfortunately theres no reason why we can't put gay UK plates on the front. Most MOT stations and Police either dont know the full law, or just don't bother with it.
 
the same thing happened to my mate martin (mld22) with the yellow 9. he was taking me home after a night of some good vtec in the town and he decided to put his foot down and jus as he went round the bend the boys in blue stuck there lights on. they reversed back and asked him if he likes making noise as to which his reply was


"im very sorry officer i didnt mean to"

At this point i was in histerics, and to top it off they let him away with it and he told them

"to enjoy the rest of your night officers" lol

it just goes to prove being nice and not talking back does get u off, compared to me when i got pulled in the evo months back and decided to talk back which wasnt the best idea haha
 
got to admit, being nice to the cops does pay off.

one cop kept giving me daggers and everything i said he had a smart answer for, where as the other guy seemed to be sound and understanding the situation more so i just talked to him the hole time.

the grumpy copper was saying " its half past ten at night, who in there house would want to listen to that racket?" to which i replied, "totally agree mate, except where i was making some 'noise' there was no houses, just a night club" .


and as for the plates they implied to me theres no reason i cant fit a uk style plate on the front AND back

but they do look a tad gay
 
why is it theres always one whos completely sound and one whos the total opposite?? best thing Ive found is to chat away to the sound one, be polite, answer any questions without being smart, and completely ignore the other one.

end of the day though just one of those things that being decent pays off. avoided a section 3 for excessive vtecz and court because i was nice and acted the nervous apologetic guy.

I think that's taking it a little far. "Treat people the way you want to be treated".

So what if they are giving you "cheek" ? Just be a gentleman and not a complete tool. Everyones different. Maybe if you got pulled over, you'd "bust a cap" ?
 
I got pulled (or, actually not, I was followed home!) by a cop 2 days after I got my EK9. I was enjoying myself a bit too much I guess and I shot off a roundabout rather quickly. The exhaust fitted is not the quietest one and only when I got home (which only was about a minute later after my short ''blast'') I realized I have a police van on my tail. Well, I parked up, got out and the officer was waiting for me, saying - I was doing 50mph to try to catch up with you and you only slowed down when you spotted me. Well, that wasn't true, generally speaking I do stick to 30 mph speed limit so I just dropped the speed regardless of police presence, but I knew there was no point arguing with him. I could have also argued that he wasn't supposed to do 50 mph either, at least not without blue lights on. So I told him that I only had the car for 2 days I got a bit too excited, to which he replied - next time I see you too excited you won't get away without prosecution, take it as a warning. TBH, I really like the way they warn you and only if you get caught again they do you, that would not happen where I am from. The trouble is they know where that white noisy car is from now :D Anyone wants an exhaust swap? :)
