First day at the track with the hatchback.
Very cold and extremely windy...made it hard to warm up tires and everything else! Ton of fun. I really appreciate the track coupe now that Ive run this street hatch out on track. The coupe is much more fun. ;)

Looks great fun mate.

Goes well and sounds great :D

How did you find it ? Did you notice it behaved differently due to being a hatch and not a coupe ?

Nice video dude :nice:

Thanks buddy.

How did I find it, hummmm.
Its slower, mushier, slides all around and the seats suck. But its fun to track.
The coupe is soooo much better on track. I cant wait to get back in it at track.

Hehe i knew you were going to say that lol. I was going to pre empt it and say Soft and slow ? still seems to go well though, sounds nice and healthy

At least now when you get in the coupe you'll laugh how good it is :nice:

As you said before, this makes a perfect engine tester ;)

Go ahead, say it..."I told you so!"
Damn it your friggen right too~

Engine testing unit for sure.
Training craft also, see the shifter extension I have in there? Training for the coupe tall shifter. Makes steering less involved when going to and from the shifter.

I like the term training craft :)

yeh i did notice that shifter actually, i trial fitted one to my EK9 when i had it but because it was still the OEM item and not a short shift linkage the travel bwteen selecting gears especially 3rd to 4th was huge and it got annoying how far i had to move it. Your's looks nice and tight though is it a short shift unit in there ?

have to add also that Steering wheel is class !!

i think its such a great idea to use the hatch as a test bed. Damm cool also :woot:

When you next out in the Coupe dude ?

Training with using the s2000 steering wheel
Training with the same gear shifter setup in the track car

Waiting for the truck to get out of the shop [jail] to get the coupe to the track...:(

you seem to do alot of track days and every time the sun is shining, we dont get that here lol do you still have the coupe? what stilo is that your using? nice vid mate :))

DOSvtec, yes still have the coupe...
im only tracking in sunny weather...not warm out but it was sunny last weekend, extreamly windy as well, 30mph gusts are my guess. We mostly stayed in our cars to keep warm.

Stilo ST4 GT W

Nice video and photos, I love both of your cars :D

Thanks rvm ...its a love hate relationship with the both of them.
Thanks Topher ... as close to owning an EK9 as Ill ever get.

The hatch is nice, no trailering a car around with the truck[whole different level of hassle/work making a track day very long]. Yes, that part was nice!
But the sloppy suspension [non spherical] was not so fun...more like a joke.

Having the quiet exhaust was also a nice change and will be great at quiet tracks like Laguna and Sears Point, where the track car would need a more restrictive exhaust.

The next step with this hatch will be to upgrade the suspension a bit more. [Wicked]
Not sure about going full spherical but at minimum new bushings and partly spherical? Not sure yet.

Looking at upgrading the shocks to something more refined also.
Eibach has some new adjustable coil overs that I am hearing some good things about...price is right too.

ITR brake setup might be on its way out...on the fence with that at the moment.
I hate fade and I got that at the track last weekend. I had to regulate my braking to avoid fade, not fun. carbotech street strip pads on it with all stainless lines and DOT4. I just lean on the brakes a ton I guess.

Lastly, dyno tune with the S300.

That should be all for the time being.
