Syncros

[Shift]

Just want some in put guys. I have to get 1st and 2nd gear cones for my gearbox. 99-00 JDM CTR. Are the comes the same thing as the syncros? N can i get the cones alone without buying a complete set up? If so, from where?? Anywhere in the US as it is easier for me to get parts from the US here to Barbados.

if your getting gearbox rebuild in a shop get them to source the parts

Over here in Barbados we dont have the luxuries u guys do. Anything we want has to be imported....syncros n stuff like that no one carries here. General parts yea...but for Honda stuff its also cheaper to import them ur self. I got the syncros...but now have an additional problem that i want some assistance with.

Put in syncros...n now not sure if everything went back up right...cause im getting drive in 1st gear...not going in 2nd...but now im getting drive in neutral (n we all know this shouldnt be)....

HELP!!!!

I think if you buy it from honda they just dont sell you one thing. You have to buy the whole kit.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a used tranny from a online store with a good rep then rebuild it. Plus you can sell your bad to someone letting know the problem and make a bit of the money back. Plus if the shop is not a honda certified trans mech they can cause more problems then it's worth, I've seen it before.

better to change anew 1/2 gear as well (mainshaft) for the perfect shift - the cones on the gear tend to wear out. I find the 1st gear especially important.

Thing is my box was working fine b4. Now took out the box again n its sticking in first. So i am very sure that something keeps getting put back in wrong. the gears are fine.

Found the problem guys... all i got to say is just make sure when u changing anything in your gearbox make sure it goes back in the same way it came out. The second gear hub was in upsided down so thats why it wasnt engaging the gear and sticking in first....
