First of all, I know EK9's are a harsh ride, not suited to UK roads at all etc.

It just seems 'too' rigid, almost like there's no springs. I'm getting knocking noises too from both sides of the car. Is my suspension about to fall to pieces lol?

What parts should I check? or shall I just take it to a mechanic?

Can you check if the shocks have any leak? how many miles you've done to the suspension ?

I had shock noises when I exploded 2 of them when I ran at full speed on speed bumps lol, maybe you should change your shocks soon :(

yeah, sounds like your shocks are blown, also is the knock noise on turns? maybe axles as well...

I don't get a knocking noise when turning. I do however, get a whirring noise sometimes?

wuts is the simptom apear when the shocks are blowning???how do we know by hand test??? mean when its detach from body???

check your anti roll bar drop links hondas are bad for them going they cos a knocking noise front and rear. check the top arms on the front shocks to

i am getting a weird knocking noise aswell but i think its got something to do with my engine mounts, but not only that i am getting a knocking noise from kinda both sides of the front of the car it doesnt come all the time just sometimes,m i have taken it to 3 mechanic and they have put it on the ramps and checked both uper and lower arms and they say they cant find anything because there isnt any play, do you think my shocks have gone aswell..?

shocks have most likely gone. when i had the stock suspension on, the car was fairly comfortable with no knocking sound

Old thread guys, was a broken passenger side rear bush.

I still think the ride is really harsher than it should be though, might be the Yorkshire roads.

Anyone local I can get a ride in for comparison?

this indeed is a horrible noise... :D tho damaged drop links alter handerling a bit, they wont make ur ride harder / harsher... however as 'lumek4' mentioned Honda's do suffer frm this! So intersting to know these might be some of ur probs...

drop links also go easier when car is lowerd!! as more stressis applied to them. It started doing it on mine recently... tho i know its this cos many other m8s of mine had same prob... :naughty:

noise sometimes mistaken with a suspension / arm bar prob, or even the engine mounts... remember anti roll bars move lots on bumpy surfaces.

knocking noise fixed when these were replaced, they r cheap too!

stcok suspension is v.comfortable imo

After my frustrating drive home from work today, I find that so so hard to believe. I'm flinching going over every bump, almost feeling the pain the car is suffering!!

Either the roads where you live are flat or my 9's suspension is fubared.

dude if you think UK roads are bad you should see our roads here in the Philippines & experience what we have to put up with when we ride our bikes or drive our cars.
