Super clean EG6 SIR2

not looking to start any arguments but...

i had sent nick a deposit for this car on the 11th of july to the sum of £140

i also payed £65 for a flight over from ireland only to recieve a call (the day before i was due to fly out) from nick telling me that during an oil change that day yasir had told him that the bottom end was knocking in the car

i know that i guess i was lucky that the problem was diagnosed before i was left stuck in england with no way home or stuck with a car that the engine was fudged

it has been over 2 monthes now and i have sent numerous texts and emails looking for my deposit back but to no avail and no answer from nick to me last few attempts

i dont expect to get any money back for my flight but i do expect a refund of my deposit

so maybe nick will see this or maybe yasir could get in contact with him seeing as he is the one who started the thread in the first place

ill be filing a dispute with paypal by the end of the week if it is not returned

bump this up for the crack

still not got my deposit back from this crook

had a lad that viewed this car contact me a few monthes back after i was told the engine started knocking

here was his experience with the car when he viewed it

Hey mate

I thought I'd enlighten you with a story regarding the SiR 2 you left a deposit on.

I went to buy that car and here is a thread I posted on a another forum:

Quote:
Pics can be so deceiving

Forced my uncle to take a day off work and we drove down to Leicester to see a "mint" EG6.

Was suppose to be this: Used cars for sale with PistonHeads and according to the owner it has a slight paint chip on the rear bumper, stone chips on the front bumper and a stone chip on the roof. I couldn't believe how clean it looked on the pics and as G786 (apparently well known tuner) said it was clean, I thought it would be as they deal with Civics daily.

Questioned him on rust a few times when I spoke to him and he said no rust, rust free, well looked after, etc.

Upon arrival:

Hole in seat
Heavy Stonechips along the front
Few dents in the boot lid
Stone chips on quster which had been touched in
Stone chip dent on roof
Slight scrape on the front bumper which wasn't mentioned but it's an old car so these issues weren't a problem.

And then - rust
Rusty rear arches
Rust bubble that needed popping on the quarter about an inch big.
One quarter panel seem to have had filler in a few places which had started to crack
Rust on edges of front wing(s)
Poor paint job on one quarter and rear bumper (front bumper had been sprayed but it was ok)
Bits and bobs of rust underneath
Felt quite slow too and the exhaust manifold was about a cm off the ground and scraped everywhere - didn't help that he went straight into VTEC as soon as we set off.

The guy claimed he had never seen the rust but I just politely left..

First thing I did was when I went into reception was say to the co-owner what's the car like, is it rust free? and he said "it's mint and immaculate and no rust with a grand worth of wheels". What gets me is that you get traders selling cars on behalf of people all the time but the car must be to a certain standard? I'm not slagging anyone off but if G786 class that car as mint and "super clean", isn't that a reflection of their own work quality/cars? Having just set up my own business, would never endorse or have anything with something that is that poor.

Ah well, crap day and a waste of time and money - made me realise I should have just fixed the other EG6 I had as that was rust free or stored my ATR in the garage as it was a great car and would have been a great daily to meet clients, etc.
