Sunroof Removal

Simple question, how to remove sunroof on EJ9?

Is it just as simple as it looks or do i need to know anything first before removing as i dont want to make any mistakes :nono:

Also ill need a bung as a replacement for the sunroof, where can i find one?

shaun @ buddyclub does roes sunroof delete panels :) they just rivet on and you seal from the inside, ive got one on my car very good for the money.

and yeah simply just take the roof liner off and start stripping, pretty straight forward when your looking at it, cant go wrong bud
 
It is straightforward once you start.

Anyone know if shaun@buddyclub lives? been trying to get hold of a sunroof delete for ages :(
 
If you want it to last, look tidy and guarantee no leaks (main problem with bungs) have a new roof skin welded in or plate it (almost as much work as the roof skin anyway).

Metal roof skins contract and expand with changes in temperature so you have to be careful fitting a bung that isn't metal. I wouldnt bother with a bung or panel personally but it depends on how much you are willing to spend.

fibreglass will shrink after time too and you will be left with a big dip in your roof skin...
