Wouldnt waste your time with Dixon cheng

Been at him for nearly two weeks now to send me photos of CF sir lips, he keeps fobbing me off saying he is too busy. might be true but not professional IMO

I made my own out of the skin (top layer) of a suzuki aerio's hood.

I had it riveted and bonded (glued) in place for all of $40.00cad.

Sure the CF piece shown is probably lighter (by all of what 2lbs?), but value wise I personally can't justify.

Post a pick please. Does it look good though?

Has anyone got a picture of the roof without the Liner on? I've found a kit thanks to Olly, although it requires welding. just wondering if i could modify the bracket to be able to pop rivet it on instead.

Cheers, Guys

your gonna lose alot of strength doing that man, thats why it will need welded, to maintain chassis strength

The rest of the kit only gets pop riveted, it was just because the bracket length is too short to fit the rivet. Spoke to the guy

no you don't.

The roof skin itself it not a highly stressed member that's why it's as thin as it is up there with just a few braces under the roofliner to maintain its shape.

If you tried having the roof skin welded, you'd likely warp it or burn through it and then you're in for a bunch of other problems.

Not the greatest pics...but the plug conforms to the overall shape of the roof so there's no flat indentation if one were just to use sheetmetal. I specifically chose the Aerio hood for this reason.

It uses rivets, and they are exposed on the top. It's a track car, so to me, I dun give a **** what it looks like at the moment. The silver ring around the plug is rust proofing paint as the Aerio hood had a raw edge from using an air saw to trim it.
