Strut bars, x-bars, h-braces..

While I can't deny that the front crash bar is quite heavy in comparison to the thin - almost clothes rack like hanger of the JDM/other market units - it's hardly something that would contribute to excessive understeer.

The bar is quite hefty but I'm certain it weighs no more than 30lbs at most. Substantial? yes. Excessive. No.

ok i might have exaggerated a bit but you see my point. The worst thing is the a/c as well. Imagine having no a/c and no impact bar. I estimate you'll have 40kg less which otherwise would lie on the front end of the car. Are there 2 types of impact bars? I was aware of only one type which is this

that's very interesting.

Is that a real EK9 or just one that has the 5lug swap and painted Champ White?

I distinctly recall my friend replacing his EJ6 with one that looks like the following:

This was a USDM DC2 having the JDM front clip installed.

I may be wrong and stand corrected until I can further clarify....As for the AC, I totally agree, but in some parts of the world having no AC for a daily driver is just not an option... :p

In my view to much is not enought....well of course is going to had some rigidity to frame and less parasital flexing, wich is great for track/curvy roads....do you realy need all of them, probably not!

If you stiffening up the front of course you get more understeer and on back oversteer....but never a dramatic change, if so, check your bushes and bolts!!!

3 point front- 4 point trunk bar....for me is enought and even the 4 point is a little pointless....why not tie bars..well most of the flexing effect ocures on the top of the shock...The only tie bar i will consider is ASR for a sway bar purpose!

For now my EK4 is runing stock bar at front and rear 4 points with ASR brace, that´s it! Love it!

i have xbar and pw:jdm 3point on my ek3
handles very well
only slight understeer
also running 22m rear sway bar and tie bar
stock front ek3 sway bar
