steering wheel removal

Can anyone please tell me how to safely remove the stock momo steering wheel without deploying the airbag. Much thanks
 
once you disconnect the battery the rest is up to nuts and bolts .. i gave it about 20 min after disconnecting the battery then went to work
 
So i shouldn't really have any issues then, its pretty much straight forward?
 
There may even be an airbag relay cut off..

there was on my EK4.. like when you unplug the relay the airbag is automatically switched off..
but as said disconnet the battery..

You'll need a torx screx head to get them off they are not philips or flat head bolts..
Best way i found was to get a torx head screw driver and then use mole grips on them as i could not get the bolt to break with a screw driver handle i needed leverage..

P.S haynes manual's will answer alot of basic questions to do with things like this. its always worth while to get your hands on one...
 
No problem .. And as above said manual is you best tool.... Goodluck removing it ... Don't get punched in the face by an air bag lol
