hi guys not were i should be posting this but this seems like a good place.

certain cars have a very dull, lose steering feel, like its not connected and it doesnt give u confidence and knowladge of what the car is doing.

i wana know what depicts the steering feel of the car and what can be done about it.is there a way of making it feel better what are common mods to make steering feel better?

Well if you had a EK9 and it felt like that then i would suggest replacing bushes.
With other cars it can be things like power steering, bushes again, cheap tyres ect.

Most modern cars use electric power steering which kills all feel. Older vehicles have hydraulic systems which are inheriantly heavier and feel more solid.

Then theres tyres, suspension geometry, shocks and springs etc

From what I heard a lot of the steering feel is due to the suspension.

I would say try swapping tyres first- some tyres with softer sidewalls make the steering feel pretty loose and unresponsive. Toyo T1-Rs are especially bad at this when used on cars with double wishbone suspension. Apart from this it is most likely to be suspension components, bushes or the steering rack/arms.

My EK4 felt really loose with Uniroyal Rainsport tyres running the recommended pressure of 35psi front, 32 rear. I upped it to 38 front and 36 rear and then felt great. I also had some T1-Rs but playing with the pressures on these made no real difference. Now got Potenza RE010s fitted and cause they have a much stiffer sidewall I can run those at 30psi all round and the suspension/steering feels nice and tight

Lowering your car can also affect your steering response :nice:
