Hi lads. Just looking for a comparsion between these two. Does anybody have either of them on their car? Does either one have any advantages over the other or are they both equally as good at improving handling? I was looking at them on Nengun Performance and the Mugen ones are double the price of the Spoon ones. Any reason for this? Cheers. :)

Spoon front and Mugen rear is a good combo.....

Spoon front one joins to where the shocks bolt on, the Mugen on the other hand bolts to the side where the oem one mounts, for me i found quite a difference in stiffness with the spoon one after changing from oem!

Mugen rear one is a 1 piece solid brace, VERY stiff!!! the spoon one on the other hand has dc2 integra fitament trim dodging brackets, i would question the stiffness of it seeing as it has such tall brackets etc, hence why i went for a J's racing rear bar, the brackets on the j's one mount so they sit in line with the main bar of it so it almost looks like a 1 piece bar but with brackets....

Mugen ones are just so expensive as they have JDM fanboy tax added

A three point benen, carbing, or password JDM bar would be a better and potentially less costly choice for the front bar. Three point bars are like the two points, but connect to the firewall as well, tying the engine bay together even more.

As for the rear, as long as it doesn't have any flex joints (only one through-bolt holding it together at the ends) they will all pretty much perform the same. OEM Civic type-R bars, for instance, don't have any real flex in the joints because they use two bolts to hold each side of the bar to the mounts.

the "best" is if one could find the 1st generation Mugen bar.

It attaches to the shock tower bolts and the original OEM studs, in effect an 8 pt. brace.

Sounds awesome ragingangel, somewhat difficult to come across nowadays i`d imagine,

For me the best brace on the market at the moment would have to be the password JDM 3 point brace, it does everything you woudl want a brace to do and is a hell of allot cheaper than the Carbing brace it copies and reported to be stronger also.

Spoon and mugen braces are overpriced and do not function as effectivley as a 3 point brace,

I have seen pics of people double bracing by using a stock brace and a backyard special brace looks overkill though.

these give enough clearance to run both braces at once

3 point strut if money stretches as it makes huge difference in comparison to the oem front strut
