This car has been on here before, and I'm still trying to get hold of the guy who had it before the guy I bought it off.

I went 400 miles round trip to get it, mainly as the shell is 99% rust free, although I am having a little water ingress from around the rear arch area. The weather has precluded me from investigating it hard yet.

Currently its got B16b, asd diff, aem V2, spoon rep manifold, carbon kevlar bonnet (I will fit pins in that) uprated driveshafts, short shift, decat and the worlds loudest back box! Also got OEM dampers with Tein springs, unknown rates, though. Got 3 guages and a steering wheel thats not to my taste - Nardi drift, gold spokes.....

Plans are - remove B16 and stick in fettled B18, with full custom exhaust, intake etc etc. 1k old B18 gearbox, sticking to OEM ratios I think (TBC - MAY be reduced FD but longer 5th), ceramic clutch, different diff, uprated discs and pads, new guages, full custom suspension, modelled on the cars weight, then corner weighted with me in...... O and Ima fit a nautilus horn cos they make me laugh.
Already stuck on new wipers (calm down Pants!!) and new headlight bulbs, the headlights need a polish / de-scratch etc (got Meguirs kit and going to watch the vid on here a few times). Looking at this week to fire in new head unit and front components, probably not going to bother fitting rear speakers, not sure, under-seat slimline sub (a little bit of bass fill-in, IF required) and an amp to power it. I MAY look at a set of spoon mirrors - going to use my contacts to see what can be done, and I'm on the hunt for a set of wheels, but from a list of 4. THIS is proving nightmarishly hard.

Anyways, a couple of pics to be going on with. Please bear in mind its done over 300 miles in this bloody awful weather so isn't particularly clean or shiny.....



 
Nice car, but why would someone paint a Black EK9 another color :(
 
In the register section, there's a guy from Swansea who had it 2 owners ago and apparently it was done pre-import.

TBH, I prefer them in white, then yellow, then this one, then black then red. I WAS looking at buying a black one but the guy never got back to me.... :(
 
Pity it was originally a Black EK9, there rare.. Would of made more sense to paint a white one, there everywhere.

Anyway best of luck with it man, great plans, will be keeping an eye on this thread :)

Oh and black ones are common compared to Spoon blue ones! lol ;)

ANY idea of anyone on here who has had it, as I'd like to try to build up history etc of it? And its going to be staying with me for a good while after the work thats going in to it! ;)

I've seen this car with numerous owners over the years, I'm sure it will be easy enough to find them.
 
Poor thing must feel like the unwanted, unloved smelly ginger kid with a lisp!! :run:

EDIT:- A couple of stereo bits bought and attempting to fit them now. And replacement steering wheel on the way - thanks to the FS section.
 
i remember seeing this on ebay a while ago, a trader from here was selling it i think
 
I think Ali (previous owner) got it from a trader....

Nice car.. Colour suits it. Like that the tinted windows are gone. Don't think they would suit it at all.. The 15" uk spec wheels suit it down to the ground IMO. Best of luck with it
 
nice colour if the bay was the same colour it would be alot nicer tho and the wheels need to go in the bin but thats just my opinion i like the engine plans
 
I'm on the hunt for one of 4 specific sets of wheels, but no luck yet ;)

I agree, its not to everyones taste and it may have been a shame to "meddle" with a rare-ish black one, but I didn't do it! :p I think once its done it will scare and amuse me in equal measures!!!
