Hi there, just picked up my ek9 last night from york. im from edinburgh so was a great drive home :) One problem though and hope its an easy fix. When i was accelerating the speedo fluctuates quite a bit but settles when you stop accelerating, also if you are holding a constant speed the needle occasionaly dips. I phoned the garage and they said it sounds like the earthing wire? has anyone else experienced this or knows of any way to fix it.

Thanks

Nick

Could be your VSS or a bad speedo in the cluster. My Speedo would cut out a lot on my 95 EJ1 Civic EX Coupe. Swapped the cluster out for an LX Sedan cluster and problem solved. You can either swap speedos or the whole cluster if that's the problem.

enkei84, does the ek9 has the mph conversion installed?

that issue usually appears when someone works with the needles of the cluster. I don't think it is a wire, but maybe I can be wrong.

yeah it has been converted from km to mph! hopefully nothing to serious :(

thanks

Nick

i have seen this happen alot once someone has been in turnin the mileage reading back when changing from kmph to mph

i shall private mail you how to solve the problem as i have done it on a few ek9s and integras
