So my speedo decided to stop working which in turn means no tec for me

I have done my research and upon thinking initially it's my VSS swapped mine over with a known working one and nothing....
So then checked the loom and connector part and found a bare wire. So I wrapped the wire up in electrical tape and check fuse, fuse still in one piece but changed it for a new one anyways, still nothing....
Then took speedo out to check behind there, everything seems in good order except there's to plugs behind there not plugged in, one yellow and one green and one orange that is plugged. No where for the others to go so assuming thats right that they aren't plugged in.
So this is where I'm at now, stuck for ideas! Going to plug into mates computer tomorrow to check for fault codes but just throwing it out there I case anybody has had similar problem or knows something else I could try!
