Skunk2 Tuner 2's on JDM B18c

How's it going. Ive bought Skunk2 Tuner 2's for my DC2 Type R. I plan on getting them fitted in the coming weeks. AFAIK my head on my car was never removed or skimmed. How much do i need to take off the head to get enough compression to run the cams?

Ive been told use a thinner gasket and it will be fine, but id like to hear from yer point of view also.

Also is the standard 62mm tb and intake manifold ok for Tuner 2's?

imo i wouldn't split an engine unless the gasket is blown or needs a rebuild

my engine is 100% at the moment, there's no smoke or anything from it, gonna fit new seals when im at the cams, how much has to come off the head or will a thinner gasket be alright?

I'm in the same boat as you, going to use an OEM headgasket (nothing better imo) and take 15 thou off the head.

15 thou skim, skunk 2 alpha springs, titanium retainers, tuner 2 cams and pro cam gears.

VTEC6000 mentioned 15 to me, I've heard people skim 20+ so should be fine, just check the head hasn't been skimmed before.

I measured my head as a 60thou skim - thats the most ive been able to find any b head skimmed!
At that I had a little collision and had to relieve the pistons (pr3) with ek9 cams.

Your cams will have an extra 1mm (40thou) lift - it does all get a bit close!
