i have a 99 sir, not sure if it has stock gears. at 120 km/h the car is revving at nearly 4000 rpm in 5th. whats the revs like on your sirs at that speed?

Sould be close to 4200rpm at 120km.

That tranny is a joy ! even more on track...

Would need a 6th gear on highway with the price of the fuel :angry2:

Is a joy alright.. I had to do a trip to cork from dublin twice a week and the car loved it.. lol..., sitting at 5K the whole way down.. :nice:

what kind of mileage you guys gettin? i got bout 250k with 30 euro fuel

I usally do about 400km town to 550-600 highway, that`s
with redlining here and there.
Full tank of super is 60$ CDA here... A few years ago it was 35 :angry2:

I got a short shift sitting to be install, got it free from a friend, but
I`m not sure...

Any comments on short shift ??
Don`t want it to be too stiff, I like it short but not stiff (at least not too much)

Finding a CTR shifter would be best, but items like this and steering wheels and seats are purely up to the individual user.

What looks good, feels good to you may be totally utter crap to somebody else. One thing is for sure - get Energy Suspension shifter bushings and the ball of the shifter lubricated (even if it's stock) as the heat from the exhaust has likely baked the lube dry years ago.

What does fuel cost in Montreal now? It's 1.48 out west in BC. If you guys have Mohawk/Husky over there, consider using that as their regular starts at 90 octane and I use it in my R with compression just a hair under 11:1 but with the timing on the distributor dialed down to 14deg.

Sorry, a bit late on the reply...

Fuel is now up to 148 yesterday for super (91).:((

I `ve worked on my car yesterday on my short shift and energy bushing...

That **** was rubbing on the exhaust heat shield
So I ended up putting back the OE one, I did not even drove the car.
I hate product that don`t have proper fit, + the shifter itself is shorter
not only the shifting. That suck for me cause I track the car and I don`t
want the shifter to sit lower.

I have lubed up the old one install one of the bushing and I could not fit
the one on the tranny, it`s ****ing too big and won`t go in :nono:

Now I`m thinking to get an ek9 shifter...

That`s probably why Spoon and Mugen don`t make any short shift ??

the brand of the short shifter really matters in this case.

If you're using one that you purchased for a few dollars on eBay be prepared for trouble. Also, most reputable short shifter makers don't take into account how seriously Honda enthusiasts have gotten where they required fitting 3 - 4.0inch exhausts. That really cuts down on space between the pivoting point.

i use a dc2 itr dual bend shifter an gear linkage in my eg6 sir find it good not too short and its smooth
