hi folks, i ended up seeing some banter on someones for sale thread in regards to the comparison between the s2000 and dc5, it was getting interesting tbh!

so can the people who have driven both step forward please, which was better around a track?

ive only ever driven the s2000, and tbh i didnt even push the car to it limits in my time of ownership, but when it comes to it, it would appear the s2000 has the better ingredients

rwd
engine is closer to the middle
wishbones in all corners

DISCUSS! and no arguing!

Only ever driven s2000. But as you say s2k trumps dc5 in almost everyway in terms of performance on paper.
I highly doubt stock for stock a dc5 would have much of a chance tbh. To argue otherwise is pretty pointless IMO , rose tinted glasses and all that lol

sorry to say but the dc5 is known as the "boring" type r. S2000's gearbox is amazing.

I think if you take actual performance out of it I would and have the S2000. After all IMO RWD is always going to be better out of two cars with similar outputs. You can also do more with it. I've always thought big BHP front wheel drive cars are kinda pointless
But add that to RWD and you have something different all together.

I haven't driven either but on B.M the dc5 had a marginally quicker time around Tsukuba.

If you go onto the dc5 forum they have nothing but praise for them but that's to be expected.
You can't argue with it looks.

I'm looking to get one in the future.

Driven dc5 and been in s2k, mates own both. S2000 is very capable car, handles biot better than the dc5 imo, but can be tail happy haha. Very hard to say which one is "better" though. Id edge towards the s2k

Dc5 is a great all round car s2k is more of a weekend car.

Never driven a standard dc5 so i cant say if it boring or not, but mine now is far from boring.

However i would have an s2000 but i couldnt leave it standard. Final drive on them is a bit too long especially compared to the dc5 gearbox
