s20 gearbox... can't put gears in

hey, friend of mine is driving a d16y8 eg with a s20 gearbox... in there is 10w40 oil (Oo") and now he has problems with putting in gears... the clutch is brand new so this isn't a problem... i would say the oil is not the best choice?

can you help`?

try changing the fluid back to 10W30 at the very least.

Check to see if the master cylinder is leaking and if it's at the proper max fluid level.

The best would be to use Honda's MTF if it is readily available in your country.

I have the same problem, recently bought a car and i have problems putting in gear expecially first. I did a oil change at a mechanic (not sure what he use) but it still the same.

I was thinking abt getting some genuine honda oil but im not sure. If its not the oil what else can be the case?
