Hi,

I have had a low pitch rumbling noise coming from my front right wheel for about 2 weeks now. It only happens when taking left had bends (ie when the weight is shifted to the right side of the car) It sounded like a wheel bearing so I had that off last weekend and changed it for a new one but that hasn't solved it.

It still happens clutch in or out, more noticable at speed than when taking corners at say 15-20 mph. Ive done a visual inspection and cant find anything wrong/different when comparing to the other side front wheel. All the CV boots are in perfect condition, no perishing or anything. Im really stumped as to what it could be? Driveshaft? Worn brake problem? Ive no idea what to check next.:angry2:

I cant even jack it up and check really because its only really noticable when going above 20 mph round a left hand bend. It has worsened though :((

Any ideas or help would be brilliant please chaps! :nice:

have you fitted new tyers ? i thought when i fitted my toyo t1rs my wheel bearing was gone but it turned out it was road noise from them vert bad road noise from t1rs i think.

Yeh, ive just had new tyres, but it was happening just before then also.

I had Toyo R888's and they're quite noisy. But now I have my new tyres the noise is alot more apparent.

Oh and I have an EK9, i forgot to say that! :nice:

Anyone? its driving me MAD:angry2:

How would I check if its a CV joint? would I not have spotted that when I changed the wheel bearing? I mean I wasn't looking for it, but surely it would be easily noticable?

What would need replacing if it is that?

Ill have a look as soon as I get chance.

Any other suggestions people? :nice:

Cheers shooter!

there would be a crak in the boot of the cv joint and u probley would see greese lieking from it but they make more of a cliking noise when there going:nice::nice:

the boot doesnt have to be split for the joint to be gone.see if there is excess up and down play in the joint and shaft.could be a lot of things.a badly seated spring etc etc hard to know without hearing it.

I was afraid people would say that.

Its just a rumbling noise, it sounds like when a wheel bearing goes, but not quite as bad.

Ill have a look tomorrow if I get time and see if I can find any play or anything. Like I said the boots are in perfect condition, no cracks or anything. But ill have a look.

Could it be anything to do with my brakes? as they do need replacing. I'm just waiting on my new carbon ones :D:drive:

Ill have a check over my suspension and things too. Ill post again when I've had a look! cheers guys

If anyone has any other suggestions, keep em coming

Its pretty hard to diagnose over the internet..

Get it to your local handyman aka mechanic or get a few opinions on it..

your going to have plenty of noise when you get those carbon pads? on .. Some squeel pretty bad!

Yeh i'm expecting some noise from them, but its all in preparation for lots of track days over the summer etc. :nice:

Turning my car into a track weapon, but still has to be daily driver. So a bit of a compromise here an there.

It won't be amazing, with it being a compromise. But it'll be fun none the less! :D

Right Ive had the car up and checked all the CV joints for leaks/play etc. and they are both fine. Both exactly the same from wheel to wheel. So im stumped! totally

I've checked all other things I could think of, joints, connections, suspension etc etc and I really can't find anything that looks out of place

It's really annoying, cos I think it has gotten worse. It's happening on only slight left hand bends now. So it must be getting worse.

Anyone any suggestions?

The only thing that needs replacing are the brake pads front and back. But they are on order and I can't believe that it would be them making the noise.

Anyone?

No ideas people?

Would really appreciate some suggestions.

I guess its a trip to my local garage then :nono:

i have the same thing. a worbling noise coming from the rear right side, i think its a wheel bearing, had it go on a clio of mine, same sound.

really annoying, but not that expensive/hard to fix.

Right, I've been to my local garage and they said its probably a wheels bearing. I told them I had already replaced it.
They then said that maybe its a different wheel bearing to the one I have changed, but there is no doubt as to where the sound is coming from in my ears.
So all they basically said was for me to keep my eye in it and hope it develops into something a bit more noticeable/serious!

Not really happy with this as I want to get this sorted out.

Anyone got any other ideas? Ive checked over everything i can think of and it all seems fine, but the noise is still there!

Could it be my LSD? or a driveshaft? even though ive felt them for play and found no difference between the left and right wheels. SHould there be any play in my driveshafts?

Please guys I really need to sort this out, its making me not enjoy my car :nono:

No one any ideas then?

Should I Just bite the bullet and take it to honda then?

Anyone :angry2:
