Hi people,

As title says ive been looking all round for insurance quotes for an EK4 VTI for me being 19 with 1NCB 2 years 2 month driving experience, living location at Preston and the quotes im getting are ridiculous! 4k the least! Now is it me or has it jumped way up this year?? :(( Now im not saying this is not what im expecting but isnt that just abit ott? Ive been looking around at some thread here and some people are getting waaaay less than mine for this year?? (i mean double amount less) how im i not finding these quotes :((

Where im i best looking on for some good quotes through internet or im i best to ring companies up personally?

If any help of info please just comment on.

Thanks
Pat :nice:

i always find its easier to swap the cover over! so if your already insured with a comany ring them up and ask to swap the cover over onto the ek4! you will probably have to pay extra but at least that way the quote you realistically

but then im in ireland but im sure iv herd of uk members doing the same

Thanks for reply, Yeah i was thinking on this but as my last option due to getting quotes over the interent the insurance company im with now gave the ek4 quote a little bit too much  but maybe ringing them would be better. Im paying enough on this ej9 a month just hoping it wont be as much on top till october :((

Thats wierd, i was getting simmilar prices on a ek4 when i passed my test back in november, 17 0 NCB etc. Im paying 2.5k for my ej9 just now :(

this is probably the best way as i had to do this to insure my ek9

i just sold my current car a tdi golf and tried swapping the cover over onto a standard em1 coupe vti and axa my insurance company said not for at least another year??? im 19 and iv been insured with them for over a year!! anybody got any suggestions on how i could insure a vti at 19?

cheers

Im 20 and have no NCB and own an EK4 VTI and have insured it with Elephant as they were by far the cheapest. Paying £1400 for a 10 month policy and you get a NCB after this. Alot of things vary insurance, i.e yearly mileage, area, use, stored over night, job description etc. It was actually £200 cheaper for me to say the car is stored on my driveway (which it is) rather than in my garage which I think is a bit bizarre.

1400 thats really good. im currently paying 2000 euro on a 90bhp golf. i have that just sold and ive got almost a year ncb and nearly 2 year driving experience! and im 19 but still nobody will touch me on a vti!!

did you make any claims or have any against your insurance as this will affect your insurance...

they quote 1.9 diesel's and 1.6 petrols the same... im with quinn at the min and have no probs with them... best of luck mate

Insurance quotes depend greatly on your postcode. I pay £1200 for my EK9, even tho I'm 27 and have had my license for 9 years... But - Glasgow is considered ''not safe'' according to all insurance companies. When I phoned them up the lady I spoke to told me that if I lived in Highlands I would be looking at paying around £500, that's less than a half! You can look up your postcode online, it will tell you how good or bad it is

mine is 1060 euro 19 2years nbc with quinn direct on ek9 :D

That's insanely cheap for your age :wow: Quinns appears to be very very good in Ireland. Tryed them for my EJ9 when I got it ended up quoting me 4k on it. Yet admiral/Elephant/Bell quote me 1.7k on an EK4 (Jordan) and 1.2k on the EJ9

That's being 18 1 year driving 1 years no claims. Which I actually thought was cheap.

Insurance prices are a crazy, with many companies there are vast differences in prices. Im only 20 and like you I've found the cheapest by far are Admiral/Elephant (as far as I know they use the same underwriters). Thats who I insured my EK4 with and will probably keep using them as no other company at the moment can touch them on price.

i'm paying £1660 just turned 18 with a years no claims on a em1, thats with admiral .. third party

I'm paying £900 currently with bell.co.uk on my ek4 with a few mods declared

I'm 21 with 1yrs ncb and my 22yr old girlfriend as a named driver.

I paid £1400 at 20 with 0yrd ncb and the girlfriend again.
