Ringing Noise From Engine

Im getting a ringing noise coming from my engine bay near the timing belt side, ive had this one before and replaced my crank pulley but now its come back again! I got it checked out at my local garage but they cant see anything wrong could be related to a/c supposedly. The best way to to describe it is like a ringing noise when im driving kinda like metal on metal and it goes when i depress the clutch. Anyone had this before?

ringing noise? what kind? the kind you get off the telephone? have you checked your auxiliary belts, are they all tight? all the pulleys tight?

haha ringing noise as in high pitched kind of like a grinding, they didnt say anything about the tension on the belts but they could have been overlooked. I know its difficult to diagnose on a forum
