96 CX Hatch
I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a replacement for the rear window on my '96 EK hatch glass. I'm restoring it from scratch and the previous owners did a cheap spray job, getting red paint on it. It's also dried out and cracked. Does anyone have a part number or gone through this before? I'm hitting up auto glass companies, but they are all stating that they expect me to also replace the glass, which I don't need and increases the price to near $600.

can you not do a glass claim on insurance? Its what people would likely do here in the UK as only £75 to sort the glass and seals

I did a bad job at describing that. I need the rest window trim. The window is fine. Just the rubber moulding around the window.

According to that, its discontinued, unless I'm looking at the wrong trim.
Yeah, that's what I was seeing. I was wondering if anyone had a work around for it at all. There's got to be an aftermarket gasket or something.

ive got a used one but might need sealant in some places to stick it down

I can work with that. Mine is cracked bad and has over spray from the last guy doing a cheap rattle can job

You can always try ebay. I'm finding three on there or so by searching the part number ( 73224-SK8-000): https://www.ebay.com/itm/155182315453

Also, I highly recommend against ordering any parts from hondapartsnow.com. I've tried before and they have terrible service, promise parts that they can't deliver (will say in stock when it DEFINITELY isn't), and aren't really a Honda dealership or anything, they're just a shady parts aggregator that sells every part on the planet. Check out their reviews online and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm in the US and if I need US dealer parts I order from Bernardi. They've been super fantastic. I also use Impex and Amayama for pretty much anything I can though, as the prices in Japan are much more favorable. I would also double check that the part number posted IS indeed the rear hatch glass OUTER molding. In the diagrams, it looks like it's under the glass?? It also doesn't look like it runs below the window, it just seems to stop at the side, and in the pictures it really doesn't look like a "T" molding. Though, I've seen incorrect diagrams before. I can't find any other part it could be, but worth using some caution perhaps. Though, the ebay set is like $35 us, so you're not out too much if you just take a gamble.

Cheers!

Some pictures here

Id say they're impossible to get off without damaging the bit that goes under the glass so it will need sticking down in places

Sorry for delay. I'm not getting notifications for replies. Looks like it tore some on the last picture. Do you think some black silicone will fix that up? I assume that's the portion that goes under the glass?

Thanks for all that info! I'll keep that opinion on hondapartsnow.com in mind. I don't think that's the weatherstripping. It's once piece and I doubt Integra and Civic hatch glass would use the same part. Thanks again.
