im gonna apologize in advance for this longer than usual post :wow:. i know this is ek9 but i recently bought a 240 vert rhd firewall converted and im california based and im wondering if theres anyone on 9.org that has a rhd FW swap in cali that has gotten it registered fine with no hitches. cuz i know you gotta hit the chp for the bluetag cuz the dash. and ive been seeing quite a few more rhds poppin out of the woodworkz lately and i know that there not authentic rhd imports. only one ive seen was a original rhd #'s matching silvia. so are they getting registered as off-road vehicles and risking gettin pulled over or can u legitamately register them somehow with the firewall swap. cuz imi also working on a portion cuz vert rhd conv and my bud says its legal cuz the firewalla isnt gettin swapped. or do the cops just no really care all to much about the lhd rhd swap more than they do the motor swaps? and if i cant register it then imma be lookin to sell the chassis which is all painted n rdy to have everthing installed in it. and im sorry for crossing nissan into 9.org but some of the peeps on zilvia are butt heads. the 9 peeps are very chill and always willin to lend some info. so in closing sorry foir the super long post but i really want this 240 running so i can hit up GMR and do some drifting up there!!!!! and thanks for any info and repsonses

if it is a conversion what is the problem ?
and the reason you see a lot of legit, real rhd cars out there is because people are just taking short cuts and just doin number jobs.

well al the information on the net and forums says that by cuttin the entire firewall out is ruining the structural integrity of the car, which i would think your making it stronger by the full bead weld all the way around the firewall instead of the spot welds. ive only seen 1 legit rhd, ive seen quite a few rhd like the bettle down the street from me which i know is a conversion cuz my buddy knows him. most im thinkin were conversions. like the ek hatch i see when i get off the frwy going to skool.

as long as they do it the right way it will be strong as if it came like that from factory

yea thats what ive been thinking ever since ive been reading up on the FW conversions that the full bead weld all the way around should be extremely much more stronger than spots welds that are i think(correct me if im wrong) about 6-8" apart of further?
