Hi folks, i might be buying an ek9 shortly and its has Northen Ireland plates fitted to it, Ive heard i can register it when i bring it back to scotland and have it changed to an 's' plate or whatever it may be, is this right and what decides the last 2 letters? what i mean is all cars registered in my area before 2001 had OS at the end, it would be a nice touch if mine had that! or would it just be random?

I done it with mine mate, just go to dvla and ask to get it changed to UK plates, mines came back as a R reg but it was just random numbers and letters after that

It's free from a Scottish plate to NI plate so I'd guess it's the same the other way.

you need

tax disc
mot
insurance
v55/5 form

didnt cost anything apart from tax for me as mine didnt have any

i registered mine last month and kept the irish reg
