Hello all,

It was nice to meet some of you at Snetterton the other weekend, I was a little pre-occupied with setting all the cameras so I’m sure I’ll get the chance to meet and chat to the rest of you at another race.

Snetterton was the first Nippon Challenge race I’ve been to and I have to say it was… AWESOME! Great weather and excellent racing action, it really is a crime that more people don’t attend the events i see no reason why these events don't have the same if not more attendence than all of the other car shows in the calender.

I was fortunate enough to listen in on your de-brief after the racing and again that was great to see a close knit racing community and it seemed to be lead very much by the drivers input. Big hand to Steve for that, its refreshing to see the racers getting their say.

One of the subjects that popped up was promotion, now this is something that really made my ears prick up as I think I could really help with this, I’ll post a separate thread on that later tho.

Down to business, some of you may have wondered what the hell I was doing climbing in and out of various cars and wandering around with cameras pointing them in peoples faces lol.

I wanted to make a video of one of the races, after filming Paul at one of his testing sessions I wanted to see if I could produce half decent race coverage on a £0 budget.

Anyway I called in a couple of favours, borrowed some kit and here are the results…

(I’ve had to split the video up into three parts to get around the YouTube time limit).

Part ONE:
YouTube - All Nippon Challenge Snetterton (PART ONE)

Part TWO:
YouTube - All Nippon Challenge Snetterton (PART TWO)

Part THREE:
YouTube - All Nippon Challenge Snetterton (PART THREE)

If you could all be kind and

Firstly, watch the videos,

Secondly, send the links to everyone you know that was in the races and doesn’t come on the forum,

Thirdly, send the links to anyone you think might find it interesting, or any forums that might like to see it. (I’ll be putting it up on Type R owners, itr-dc5.co.uk and micra.org)

Finally, please provide feedback. (the video is essentially for you guys/gals and if I was to make another, I want to take on board your feedback, basically what I’m saying is… feel free to be critical, so long as its constructive I really don’t mind).

Thanks

Dave

Totally agree with everything you have said there!:nice:

Last two race's of the Nippon are-

Sep 27 Mallory Park
Oct 24 Brands Hatch

Look forward to watching you @ mallory mate!:naughty:

Cheers guys, I dont consider myself a good driver and I learn something new every time I race. Its a shame there isnt any footage of the first race as my driving was bloody awfull, and even though I still won my class I wasnt happy at all as I made loads of stupid mistakes.

As for Passing Dixon, The little Civic just seems to pull and pull and considering we havent touched it since February, it still seems to hold its own againt the K20 boys and some of the bigger power cars. I have no doubt though that Mallory will be a lot harder so i'm on a personal diet to lose a few pounds as I could still lose 10kg's from the car and be within the weight limit.......I love my food though :))

Mallory is looking like a good turnout and apparently 20min races so should be a great weekend, just a shame i've noticed 2 of my tyres are shot so need to find even more money from somehwere :(

All good fun though

Nope, we are allowed either R888 (medium compound) or Silverstone FTZ RR which are very good tyres and are what I use personally!

I enjoyed the videos, surprising what the B18c can pull out of the bag! Where you are following the Evo's into the corner it's easy to see why the EK9 is such a great little car as the Evo's are forced to break a good car's length before you seem to.

I liked the editing, but wasn't sure about the score board in that Kris's civic has (1800) after it whereas Dixon Cheng's did not have (2000 (or more)) which is just as big a gap from standard?

I saw the car at the Performance Autoworks stand at the Castle Combe Rally Day, shame it didn't have a burn around the track :naughty:

Yeah sometimes the circuit get the details wrong as it sometimes says i'm running a 2000cc, and other times it doesnt put that the other cars are running over 2000cc (although that could be down to the driver not supplying the right details of course)
