Recently pulled over for muffler noise... it's not that loud but i know ek9s are generally targets to police. they had a traffic cop look under my hood and he went as far as saying my intake was illegal. i have a stock intake, the tube was replaced at some point and thus he "could have given me a ticket". long story short, i got no ticket.

i know cops say a lot non-sense things just to be dicks, but this has kinda scared me off getting a short ram intake. i'm from Ontario, does anyone have any info what my limitations are???

... I've heard the rumor that it says in the highway traffic act "Any modification beyond stock is illegal". any truth to all of this??? :thanks:

in the uk its illegal . you must declaire everything with your insurance . or eles your are breaking the law . and your insurance is void . but im pretty sure 90% of people in the uk dont follow these rules lol

yeah i usually go to the police station before i do anything i'm not sure of, just to find everyone does it anyway, i don't prefer to play odds, frustrates the hell out of me though

As far as Canadian Highway and Traffic Laws concerns, anything under the bonnet is fair game they cant do or say jack-**** otherwise. Anything outside the car however exhaust, wings, mirrors, window tint, etc... you can get pinched for not respecting the law.

within UK as stated everything has to be declared, in my first 6months driving i made the mistake of not declaring a few mods, luckily enough i got a payout 3 months later for the car minus the MODs however i believe the insurance companies are going to be alot less leanient during a reccesion and i will never not declare anything again it just aint worth it

i had a police officer pull me in chester and go over all the mods he really knew his stuff to be fair so not worth the risk in my opinion as the cost of fines (possible jail sentence) for invalid insurance and none payout of car will out weight decaration of MODs to your insurers there are plenty of insurance companies specifically for modified cars for this reason, best be safe than sorry
