Recaro fake or real?

How can you tell the fake Recaro seats from the real ones? Cause my friend saw some Recaro seats for cheap. At this asian mall in Toronto Canada. And he doesn't want to be scammed in buying fake ones. Cause usually they sell fake name brand clothes, bags, and pirated dvd etc. and usually you can tell with those stuff. But with these, it's kinda different. So does anybody know how you can tell which are Real and which are Fake? Thank You.
 
i used to have a set of fake and now has a set of real, here is the comparison between the real and fake.

also the thing that adjust the seating angle on the real one is triangle shape while the fake one is circle shape.

oh ya i forgot..the ones we saw..u cud adjust the seat with a pulley instead of the circular/triangular crank on the side..so does that mean its fake?

u mean the thing next to the shoulder position?! both real and fake have this.

one more thing to add, on the fake one, the black thing where the harness go through is made by plastic, and on the real one, it's covered by suede material.

no..i mean at the bottom, not by the shoulders..i guess its fake..lol and since the thing where the harness goes are also plastic and not suede..lol and now that i keep looking at ur pics..the ones we saw looked a lot like the black ones..smaller, cramped, flat cushions, plastic thing for the harness..lol with the exception of 2 things, its red and the bottom adjustable pulley..thanks, u helped a lot

its getting pertty hard to tell fake from real now days
 
yeah, they do look identical, but tbh, the fake is not as comfortable as the real one, the cushion is flatter on the fake one, also i found the width of the fake one is slightly wider than the real one, so they are not as supportive. maybe that's coz the bolsters are not as thick.

the worst thing of the fake one is the rails, the universal rails come with the seat are rubbish, the adjust metal bar kept coming off and the seat couldnt slide forward or back.

so i decided to get some genuine one after 2 months i got the fake one.
 
at least ppl can tell if its fake by little tiny differences..im glad to know how to tell the fake ones from the real ones..

lol these are both real.....the black suede are from 96-97 itr and the red are from 98-01 itr and ctr.....u can tell if there fake by the slider/bracket and the adjuster it should say recaro..but usually fake arent suade their just cloth
 
and with what u just said..got me ALL confused again..LOL so its just the slider and the bracket? if those dont say "Recaro" on it, and that the seats are cloth instead of suede then its fake? and the things that stussy_legend pointed out isnt true either?? or that he didnt know that wasnt true..Not saying that stussy_legend is a lier
 
dude, u sure the black one is also real?!
i imported the black one from China last year, and the seat itself only cost me 150pounds brand new. a u still 100% sure they are real now?!..lol.....

i have never seen a set of recaro look 100% like the black one i got. even from 96spec itr, they do look the same as the 98spec itr

very difficult to tell as the fakes are so good , but if it's for a road car and the seats are just mainly for the looks ,you cant go wrong for the money
