Hi mates,

I've got a set of Alpine SPE-69C3 6x9 speakers at the rear of my 3dr civic 00 which i mounted at the sides (in their designed place so to say)

when i play the volume a bit loud or play some bass i hear a lotttt of rattling comming from the rear.

i've got an Alpine CDE-104BTi headunit connected to a set of 6.5" kicker speakers at the front and these 6x9 alpines at the rear. no amps and stuff till now.

could the rattling be comming from the speakers' mountings (since they're plastic) or from the speakers themselves (they're only 35w RMS and 210w PMPO) ?
don't think it's from the headunit's builtin amp, otherwise even the kickers would make that tedious noise.

Alpine speakers: Car Audio & Security: Car Stereo, Speakers & Subwoofers, Car DVD Players, GPS and CD Changers

thanks in advance! :D any help is much appreciated ;)

Are you using the plastic surrounding that comes with the rear speakers? i had the same problem, removed the extra oval shaped plastic and the problem was solved... hope this helps :nice:

i removed the oem speaker and fitted the alpine ones. the bare speaker, no grilles etc. will look again maybe i overlooked it ;) thanks

try playing you music at what ever level it rattles then go to the back a push parts down or hold parts then see where it stops rattling and you've found the problem! :win: But just don't hold down the cone of the speaker when its trying to more :p

id say your speakers are just gone,if you turn down the bass and turn up the treable you should be able to listen 2 it louder without that rattling noise, also try turn up the bass full if they are gone you will notice it get worse with the bass up high!!!!!

I had that problem as well, but tuend out that there was glue that was banging on the oval shaped plastic. I just removed it and it was ok.

i have the exact same problem and my speakers arnt blown ! :S:S:S

Just a thought but i was working in that area once and left a loose screw which was bouncing on the speaker

problem solved guys, thanks for your help ;)

fitted a sub and transferred all the bass to it, so now only treble/mid comes out of the other speakers
