right, heres the build up of my latest project
after having my boosted eg6 stolen and broken for parts by some horrible little cunts i decided not to be beat, i was so close to just deleting my CL account and retreating to a boring diesel daily and growing up. THEN i saw a racebase ek9 for sale on ebay
now im usually a firm believer that if a car is on ebay its generally a pile of shite and to be avoided lol
but after looking for a clean eg sir and viewing some piles of shite i looked more into ek's and into this, chatting to the seller it all seemed genuine and a steal.
it was a rolling racebase ek9 shell, full roll cage, itr rims, glass and a full b18c swap with an s4c gearbox, all for a bargain price! it hasnt yet been registered in the uk and its a non running unfinished project which i had to get trailored from staines to birmingham where i am
it came also with genuine(i believe) carbon mirrors, genuine spoon strut brace, double stitch welded seams welded in between all the usual ek9 welds and foam filled sills and box sections to improve stiffness. as its the racebase model it came with EJ9 seats, ej9 wind up windows, no abs, no tints and lightweight glass and no type r decals so perfect for a lightweight track toy!
the progress has been very slow so far, with me recently moving into a place with the mrs out money is tight and time even tighter!
it obviously needs work and panels. i need so far
front ARB
rear ARB
front bumper
rear bumper
grille
rear calipers and all handbrake mechanisms
a few hardbrake pipes are missing so will require making up
throttle cable
heres how she stands
so far all ive done are little pieces as and when funds have allowed
i had to buy a new inlet mani due to the vacuum barb for the servo being snapped off the back for some reason
i got myself a blox thermal inlet mani gasket off stu at ppw
i got a cheap HEL braided clutch line, a braided AN pas removal kit and some engine bay blanks
the plans are so far,
get the b18c up and running and driving and hopefully get that sold when its been given a clean bill of health
b18c4 swap
get the engine pulled out and the bay re-sprayed in a fresh coat of champ white
get the cage and rocker cover coated in a bright purple
get my itr rims powder coated champ white and some sticky tyres
hopefully get a wilwood brake set up from freaky parts
plexi glass window set and heated screen from buddyclub uk( the heaters have been removed fully)
meister R coilovers
front and rear camber arms
custom flocked dash and possibly a s2k cluster
the plan is for a real tidy, simple but immaculate and stupidly quick boosted ek9
the b18c is now up and running sweet! this will be pulled on saturday for the bay to be prepped for paint, then the engine will be refitted after a thorough clean and quick paint and possibly ran for a month or so to ensure its all sweet
