Full of updates this month
It started off last time i got my tracking done, the guy at CLCM said that my front wheels were running unequal camber. After speaking to Andrew Baird at Automek (legend), he advised me to change my front lower arms. Then after getting a few knocking noises coming from my suspension, we noticed that the bushes in my existing lower arms were goosed, so that got my backside into gear.
Dean96r (another legend) on here bought my gear knob off me, and we got talking about the lower arms, and he just so happened to have a set off Adam's old shell that were in fantastic condition for 12 year old arms. Long story short, he gave me them for free. Best guy
Got a good deal on a set of Hardrace bushes for them, so went for them! That was thanks to Frodo on here.
While we were looking at the bushes, we noticed the droplinks were the original ones, and they looked a bit worse for wear. The boot on one of the track rod ends was split, so they were another thing going on the list. Also, the shifter bushes were quite spongey, and starting to deteriorate, so yeah...
ANYWAY, here are some pictures...
The bushes
The arms that Dean gave me
Decided to give them a lick of paint
Everything waiting to go on
When all the above stuff was getting changed, the CV joint, boot and the drivers side ball joint was also replaced. The boot had come loose and the CV joint had run dry, causing it to **** itself. The ball joint was just worn haha.
So basically, all my front suspension bar the shocks and springs themselves were replaced haha. So the geometry needed to be set. I've always wanted to give it a shot myself...so i did. My and my mate Jamie spent the night on it last night, and set it all up! Its driving perfectly now, running 0 degrees toe as i like the feel of that. And the steering wheel's straight, something that CLCM couldnt manage on my car for some reason.
More pics
Aaaaand thats it for now. I have a plan for the wheels when the weather gets better. Well done if you managed to read all of this haha.
Big thanks to Andrew, Dean, Frodo (John), Jamie and Greg for all the help they've given me
