Problems selecting gears

Hi all,

I recently started having problems with putting into gear. Symptoms are as follows;

When driving under normal conditions it selects the gears effortlessly even in vtec no crunches or whining, but as soon as you drive aggressively it gets harder to to select gears. As soon as you stop at the lights it will take countless effort to get in gear and sometimes having to set off in 2nd gear.

When the car is rolling it selects gears (little harder than normal) but as soon as you slow down or try to down gear it struggles to select the gears

Now if it was crunching id assume the syncro and Oil was changed 3 weeks ago as well...

Clutch was changed not so long ago and it doesn't feel like a worn/dying clutch as i experienced this prior to changing the new clutch.

Has anyone experienced this type of problem, and can advise me of what possibilities this problem may be? Any comments and suggestions would be deeply appreciated as always from this close-knit forum members! :please:

Many thanks in advance!
:thanks:

What oil did you use? Just a bit of a coincidence its just started happening soon after changing oil mate

Use Honda MTF and see if it persists, cheaper than a box rebuild

I had issue with a gearbox so i replaced it with a S80 gearbox and fresh MTF oil!

i doubt its the oil, only happens after a really spirited drive lol

Nope feels perfect... can it be release bearing but then again why only after hard driving

it sound like bad syncros but it also could be a bent shifter linkage.
are u using a short shifter ? that could also be another reason why is doing that.

easiest thing in the world is to change oil lol it would be the first thing i would do and check for filings etc.

Have you checked you mounts? I have a problem with getting into 3rd sometimes an i know i need a new rear mount, possibility for you

what oil did you use though?

Honda MTF

Check the linkage defo not that

Standard shifter

I think the best thing to do is remove and check the clutch bearing

Was going to replace that last week but was told it'd make a noise and should happen every time not only when you boot it

syncros are going out on you.

So i think this is the only possibility :(

Check the condition and amount of your clutch fluid, make sure your clutch slave cylinder is in fine working order with no leaks. I suppose it couldn't hurt to flush it with new fluid.

also check ur master sylinder is not leakin and ur release bearing as said mine crunch wen i go from 3rd to 2nd i think mine is syncro nd my release bearin is gone so i dont knw.
