Hi there guys. I have a EK9 RX Facelift Dash in my EJ9. I have recently fitted a Pioner AVH4400 But the surround didnt fit =\

Can any recommend me a place to get one that fitted?

What did you guys use for those who have double din?

Heres a rough pic >

Thanks for your time.

when you installed the face lift dash, did you install the face lift cage to hold the double din head unit in? both DD units I've had in my car bolted to the cage and the the surround just clicked around the unit then.

Yeah dude, those two brackets which are on the sides? Its not the cage thats giving me problems as i can rest the double din inside the slot. I just need a surround to put around it tbh.

I had the same problem with my Pioneer

Bought this and fits perfect , although I did have to file some little slots to allow the clips snap into place. Very happy with it.

Thanks dude, have you got any fitted pictures? Would like to see how it looks if you dont mind :)

Cheers guys.

thats what im saying my unit bolts to the metal frame giving you an even distance top and bottom for the surround to click onto.

I see, my surround must be really massive as i cant use it atall lol. It was originally clipped onto the cage i received with the headunit..but cant use that cage so its useless xD

Thanks dude.
so many mirrors !

hehe! Wink mirror FTW.

I put a jvc avx in the dc2 and found the cage that came with the unit was to big, and had to use the cage that was on the jap head unit that was coming out after that the facia was a good fit.

Anyone else? Im really stumped at what to do lol

I can install the headunit onto the radio brackets i have, but i dont have any surround that fits?

I fitted a new Pioneer double din to my dc2 yesterday and had the same issue. The cage wouldn't fit in the dash aperture.

Had to saw and file the edges down around the hole to get the cage in as my old gathers unit didn't use a cage, it used a rubber seal :s

all fits fine but my surround won't go on either. It's just too big for the space around it. It's being held off at the too by the heater controls. Will have to get a smaller surround or maybe glue the surround to the cage and refit it all

Yeah same problem with mine dude. Cage is too big...surround clips onto the cage.

So lame!

Yeah i think the only thing were are going to be able to do is get a thinner surround.

Cant modify the dash, cant really modify the surround, it's too dainty, I may try and bend the clipping points for the surround a little and see if itll hold.

I think you just need 2 find a dd cage off a jdm radio and then it should match up.
