Hi guys, I'm about to buy a project and the bloke is not selling becuse he's not very good with electrics and can't afford to pay someone to do it for him. I'm afraid that he might of ruined the wiring as he didn't know what he was doing. He said he took the dash out. And I can't quite understand why.?? I've looked online for hours and I can find a wiring guide for the b18c4 into an ej9 swap. Please can someone tell me?!! I thought the dash loom was perfectly fine as standard and all I needed to do was swap the engine harness? Please tell me if I'm right or wrong, the car comes with both looms and both ecu's please can someone help me!! Would really be appreciated!! Thanks!! :nice:

Iv recently done this swap on a mates car. We used the ej9 interior loom. Used a pre-facelift ek4 engine loom and then a ecu wiring harness obd2 to ob1 to use a socketed p30 ecu. Hope this helps!

Thanks mate! I just don't see why the lad has put in the mb6 loom, looks like I'm gunna have to take it all out and start from scratch?

Probably to run the whole loom that goes with the engine, there's no need for this.
Use the original ej9 interior loom, the ek4 engine loom will plug straight into this then just get yourself a socketed ecu with a b18c map and a harness and good to go.
I don't really know if you could go ahead with using the mb6 loom since its already there, I'm not sure if it will plug into the ej9 loom

^^^I think you are going to need to start over...in the long run better off. There is nothing worse than a bad wire that someone else buggered up causing hard to trace issues. I just got done with this issue myself...not fun.

thanks for the replies stevie and tama!! looks like the dash is gunna have to come out and start from scratch will commence!!

sorry to hijack the thread but can you use the full mb6 loom and would it be simple plug and play for the rear lights and heater controls in my ek3...i no people say use the harness and another ecu but i have the hole donor mb6 so aint fussed about taking dash out etc ...thanks and soz again for the hijack
