OEM Navigation: suggestions

Hello folks, I got honda navigation system , cd changer and some media box in my SiR.

I ve heard that these wont work anywhere except japan and there is no way of fixing them, is this true ?
What is the "media box" for ? Can I hook up xbox or dvd player ?
Is this all worthless (15 year old technology )
Can the navigation be tampered with ?(upload different firmware maybe)
Anyway what can I do with it ?

i know the toyota altezza and 350z can be convert to UK use.
cost from 200 to 700 GBP.
the guy do altezza said need to change a lot of sensor and some other bits.

i think the media box is for tv, and i think you can hook up with dvd and gaming.
but most likely it will only work whn hand brake on.
there have some kind of relay to overide this.
