Hello everyone.. Im new owner of a CTR.
So straight to the point here:

I have 1999 CTR with no engine. From what the guy i bought the car from said. He had a b18c5 motor in it before. But...

There is a harness in the engine bay that runs into the car itself. Now is the factory engine bay harness for this car. On the other end of it (inside of the car) it has a jumper harness and it looks like it plugs into the ecu (no ecu).

i guess im just used to seeing the engine harenss plugging into the shock tower on honda/acuras/.

I will take some pics tomarrow. So that way you guys can see what i mean.

Just confused??

1999 EK9 came with a OBD2B harness, and the B18C5 came with a OBD2A harness.

Possible options:

  • OBD2B Harness with a conversion harness to OBD2A to fit the OEM B18C5 ECU.
  • OBD2A Harness with conversion harness to OBD1 to fit a aftermarket ecu.
  • OBD2B Harness with a conversion harness to OBD1 to fit a aftermarket ecu.
:D

Sounds like factory. EK's have a single harness from engine to ecu, unlike EG/DC which are 2 piece and unplug at the strut towers :)

RVM those options make alot of sense now. I will post a pic of the connectors that go to the ecu side. And may you or someone else could tell me exactly what i have and what other motors i could use this harness for. Cuz im still not sure which motor i will b going with. Thanks again for all yur help fellas....

Ok here are the pics of the harness i was talking about. It goes thru the firewall into the car. the groomet is held in by 2 8 or 10 mm bolts..

Is this the factory harness to the engine?

And there is jumper harness there as well that it looks like it plugs into the ECU

Its an obd2b to obd2a conversion harness. Means they used the factory EK9 loom on the b18c5. But used the B18c5 ecu. So since that ecu is obd2a they needed to convert it back.

Couldn't use the teg loom in the ek9 because the teg loom is a 2 part loom not a one part like the ek9.

Hope this helps.

So.....can i use this harness if i wanted to install a b18c1 with a b18c1 ecu? And if so do i remove all wires from the motor and use this harness and plug in? And what about the jumper?

Trying to figure what motor to put in with the least amount of work.LOL
