Non-servo rack, the real way vs the easy way?

Hi

I want to make non-servo on my EK9.

But having seen the delicious guide in here when you open the rack and cut the O-ring out.

But, then talked to Mike from R1motion, he says that the difference will not be especially large in the solution, counter it with hose and a small air filter

Is there anyone who has tried both?
