Newbie - Going from Turbo to Vtec maybe??

Yeah quite a few people don't get it? I have friends in my jap club who have both cars, dc5 and dc2, and even the owner of the dc5 admitted it lol. I just love how you can cruise one minute in the b series, then drop it a gear, bang, vtec and it pulls like a train.
Hope the ek9 feels similar:)
 
ek9 is def more fun 2 drive in a straight line as in corners they a fun car to throw around the place specially on the track...iv drove gt starlets an glanza's an no offence to ur car but they dont compare...they rockets for a 1.6 n/a engine 185 of the finest horse's ud ever own...an rmber u can always turbo the vtec but u cant vtec the turbo!!!

No offence taken about the comment made about the starlet:). To be honest I think Ive had my fun with it, and its time to move on really. I was in the process of doing a turbo conversion on it, (td04l). But after a few people messed me around with parts etc, I got put of the idea, and kind of lost the spirit to carry it out.
 
the td04l is a impreza turbo isnt it??i no a fella that has that done 2 his glanza...its quick enuf...but theres only so far u can take a 1.3 engine...like im in the process of buildin a track car from an eg civic coupe(92-95 shape)my ek9 is fun on the track but its also my everyday car too so i got a coupe for track iv a b18c5 engine(integra type r engine)that i jus put the engine into 2wks ago an im goin turboing it as well...jus tryin 2 find the rite turbo but like i said above u can turbo the vtec if ya get bored of the speed an want faster i dont need it for track racin i jus want it to make ridiculous power for the long straghts :D:D
 
Yeah, the td04l is off a scooby. Its quite a popular turbo upgrade with the starbo guys. Most of them run 1 bar, with the odd one or two running 1.2 bar on stock internals, but the tune/mapping has got to be spot on from what Ive been told.

The coupe your building sounds like its going to be a real beast:). I looked into turbo'ing the ek9, but many over here are against it (compresssion too high), but I was speaking to a member on here from the US that did it with amazing results. What is needed to turbo the b18 and roughly how much will it cost to do it properly?
 
I guess Im the only one whos regretting slightly about going from Turbo to a B16B. :D

Its power for a 1.6 N/A is almost ridiculous, but that aside Im just too used to having power for overtaking from 3000rpms. :eek:
