Hey guys/gals, im new here, 19 from Glasgow, Scotland, currently drive an mg mk2 1.4. My names jamie, like football yadada.

Anyways:

im looking for an ek9, properly clean and all the likes, i dont know much about them, but their rep is incredible from what i read.

im after a 99-00 model as i prefer the facelift model, so far finding one near me is turning into a mission.

The best ek9 ive seen imo is a guy from here, from Switzerland, so stunning i might steal it.

thats what im looking for, one with the red recaro seats, nice interior, i would like the red on the door cards, or is that a mod i need to do myself?

Where are the best places to look?

ive tried privateimports.com, tegiwa, and a few others, nothing to my taste.

there are a few on pistonheads but thot 7,500 for a car with 77,000 miles was a bit much.

im probably asking alot, but hey!

So where should i look for my new car? And who would like to accompany me to see some as i have no clue what to look for really hahaha

for peace of mind do an insurance check, you are young and these thing are hugely expensive to insure:mad:

whats the insurance group on the mg ??? 17??

the civic is an 18, only £200 extra sounds a bit low

77,000 miles is nothing to a honda mate, For being the most reliabe cars on the road ne ways, it will more than likely run off the clock and back before it breaks...

...seemingly they have made 6,000,000 VTEC units and none have made warranty claims.

Might i point you in the direction of

www.vtec-direct.co.uk
www.d-c-y.co.uk
www.wrc-sales.co.uk

If you look you will find hundreads of importers but your likley to have to give them a £500 for them to source your spec, good luck amigo

i cant help you on the import scene and how to import one since im from the states and its a project and a half..but i can tell you that the ek9 CTR all come with the red recaros, unless you get that race base model which is a stripped down type r. And they all have red carpet and red door trims, nice momo steering wheel and should have all red honda emblems. Correct me if im wrong, not 100% sure but i believe around 95% lol

mines got 100th miles on when i got it & it's still running like a champ, don't cheap out on maintenance & lubricants & everything will be fine.

seen a few already, but any ideas how i can sell my car fast lol?

I dont mean to sound all "glass half empty on you" but my mates got one and hes tried to sell his a few times with no luck, i think the key to sell them on is price it really resonably (i.e cheaper than the rest)

I think the problem lies with the fact that as you probaly remember MG went tits up 2 or 3 years ago! Thats probaly the biggest prob you have.

£1500 for the insurance? Careful on what you insure remember there are probaly 500 diffrent model specs of the "honda civic" give them half a chance and they will void your insurance quicker that the Ek can do 60mph.....

....all be it insurance is financial suicide.

Good luck

insurance is odd, my 350z is half the price of the jdm ep3 i had, which is alot slower and worth less lol.

http://www.fastjapcars.com is where i got my ek9 and ep3 from, very good, can get you what you want for a good price.

Hi Danny, ive checked 4 or 5 times, its quite strange i thought, ive checked on moneysupermarket.com and always gave me between 1500-1700

im not complaining though.

So far, ive got in touch with 200bhpcars.com who are proving to be useless, guy has promised me emails about importing my car, but he isnt getting back to me, getting him on the phone is hard, got through yesterday to his wife i guess and she told me he was dealing with a customer only to be texted later and he said his friend died.

avoid them, i guess, i need someone reliable, this isnt something i just want to mess about with.

Wrc-sales dont seem to have much of a clue when i talk to them on the phone.

Your 350 is slower than the CTR you had??? Really?

What is she putting down?

No, i meant the jdm ep3 i had is slow than my 350z, yet the ep3 cost twice as much to insure! :thanks:

ek9soon speak to duncan at www.fastjapcars.com, he's on this site, he's got his own ek9 and imports them regularly, wouldnt use anyone else.

Ive heard nothing but good reports from 200BHP i know of MANY people who have dealt with him and he has been nothing but helpful and the cars have been perfect
