I bought a 1997 EK4 1.6 VTI yesterday. 34,000 miles on the clock from new, 1 lady owner from new, serviced every 3500 miles by a famous honda garage. BUZZING!!!!

welcome along, you've gotta post pic's of the car... thats pretty incredible really. 35,000 miles and having 10 services.... probably one of the mintest EK4's on the site thats stock.

Love it so much

Pretty much the happiest i have ever been now that i have a honda, seriously. Driving it back i felt like i was just on the best high ever.

Thanks! I will get some more pictures tonight as i got in late last night from picking it up and have been working all day today, to pay for it lol.

If you dont mind me asking how much was it and did it have the lips from standard and very nice buy man congrats

Pre-facelift EK4's didn't have any Lip's on them mate...... its only the EK4 SiR's from japan that have the front SiR lip. others wise there is nothing on them..

that is a seriously low mileage for that car everything going for it as well, if u dont mind me asking how much u get it for?

I think the splitter on the front is an extra according to a friend, and is more similar to the EK9 than absoloutely basic standard ek4.

I paid £2500 exactly for it, because i love it and to me it is worth so much more :)

Only problem is its age and have been told the timing belt might need replacing which is £290, as it has never had this done... But i will definately get it done as soon as i can.

Thanks for the welcome all!!!!

AH so there is.... looks good , That my frined is a VTI-S lip... which only ever came on 200 EK shape civic's.. rarer than EK9 lips :) looks like you ahve a rear lip aswell.....

The sideskirts don't look like EK side skirts so they might be aftermarket or something else.... they just don't like quite right to me...

Anyway £2500 for that car is a great price...!!!!! 34,000 miles i still can't get over that..

Looks like a minter!

Was this on eBay because im sure I saw it listed.

correct me if im wrong but surely he does not need to start worryin about the timing belt till it starts getting closer to 60,000 miles... i know you can do it when ever you want but its alot of money to be wasting :nerv:also just wanted to say that car looks a minter mate.. front lip is gorgeous..what age was the lady owner because i cant get the image out of myhead of an owl one hitting vtec ha:lol:

Yes it was mate, and i snapped it up so quickly. It has the original immobiliser and the red key and a yellow japanese tag.. which apprently would have been hanging off the rear view mirror at time of import.

Think this one could be worthy of show's if i keep it nice and clean but the temptation to whack fat air filter and exhaust and god knows what else is compelling because i want some noise!!!! LOL

Hehehe she must have been an old one because it looks properly cherished. Im a lucky guy!!! I got it from a very nice area, the guys house we went to so we could sort the docs out was massive lol and he was quite posh! Hurrah!!!!

I have called two local honda garages and they said due to the age of the belt it would be wise to have it relaced... What are your opinions... 14 years is a while, would you expect it to be slightly perished?
