New thermostat not opening

Ah ok...

Maybe i have two issues going on here.. I kept the car at 4k rpm and the bottom pipe warmed up.. I kept it there till the fan came on. The two pipes were good and hot at this stage. but when i let it idle again the revs were still at 1050rpm.... so my next guess based on advise will be the o2 sensor is keeping the fueling and rpm high???

so I took the car for a drive around town. 3 and 4th gear up to 50/60mph, drove back to the house and opened the bonnet and the bottom pipe was cold again... surely the pipes should stay hot when driving?? oh i dunno... would anyone know if a 100% concentration of coolant do this???

100% concentration of coolant, why did you do that?

100% concentrate wouldn't do what youre describing but its not a good thing to run 100%.

im was just asking would a 100% concentration of coolant do something like this?? I wasnt saying there actually was a 100% concentration, as I dont know for sure.

You may have picked up pre-mixed coolant, is what you may have done. If you dont know, change it out ASAP to be the correct water/coolant mix.

clogged rad, possible you have a warn water pump blade, or both.

HAve you flushed the rad out?

Thinking I might pick up a timing belt kit, water pump, and a gallon of coolant tomorrow... its my last option as I've exhausted all other ideas...

So Sunday will be a busy day as I'm fitting a dc2 exhaust manifold aswell..

stezie another thing I thought of is there's a possibility that you may have a coolant leak somewhere causing air to get into the system just a thought since I know mine has a leak and I just noticed today the lower hose doesn't warm up on mine either. aghhh if it isn't one thing it's another!:angry2:
