Hi guys i have just bought an EK4 last month my previous car was a 1990 CRX i-vt and was a bit of a heavy oil burner as seen in the last picture.

I decided on the ek4 due to better comfort, space and tuning capability.

I picked up a 1996 3dr hatch for a good deal with Full Dealership Service History, every MOT document, no rust but a couple of slight dents on both front wings, a loose front bumper held on by tie backs :nerv: and 125K on the clock. It has a tenso cold air intake and a powerflow full ss exhaust system. The car also had a ek9 ECU fitted to it. The previous owner gave me the original ek4 one and a 4-1 japspeed manifold and decat pipe.

Heres a few pictures from the ad:-

As soon as i got it home the plans for it started.
Started by cleaning the IACV valve causing rough idle.
The front lights were removed and the crome reflective casing was sprayed black also the rear lights were converted into ek9 replicas. I also carried out the DIY spoiler tilt and changed the cheap mugen grill for a oem EK9 one. Also new red Honda badges had been fitted. And the cluster trim carbon wrapped. I also removed the EK9 ECU and fitted the standard one back in, this was after checking the camshafts and them being standard B16A2, so there was no point in keeping the higher 9K rev limit.

Pic of modifications and how it looks today below.

Next thing in plan is Forced Induction with stock internals running 6-8 psi. Depending on Turbo size. :x:

What are your views on the Mods?

Hi mate n welcome nice motor! Thank go you got rid of that grille!! :nice:

Thanks for the comments guys just need to buy some rota slipstreams/grids in white to finish the look off. Will 15" fit over a 282MM big Brake conversion and are 1" EK9 Brake mastercylinders straight swap for the standard BMC? I think ill search first but an quick question wont do any harm. :D

The cars in storage right now i am going to get it on the road after the winter (snow). Its in need of a timing belt change, water pump and new rear light seals due to water getting in the rear lights.

Bought some 15" Rota slipstreams in black for the ek and decided to spray them matt white and refurb them.
First few coats had moisture in them even though the compressor was drained multiple times!:angry2:
Went in today to retry and the moisture had reduced but not totaly gone so i had to flatten the wheels down with wet and dry 2000 sandpaper. Turned out quite good :win:

Just waiting for delivery of spiggot rings before fitting the wheels to the car now.

I was thinking of buying some D1 spec red wheel (Lug) nuts but ive heard they tend to fade to a pink colour.

what do you guys recommend?
